It is with great sadness we let you know that Jeremy Gibbons K.C. passed away on Saturday 16th March.

All those who were in Chambers with Jeremy will remember him with great fondness.

He was a founder member of 17 Carlton Crescent, which became 12 College Place and now 12CP.

Jeremy was called to the Bar in 1973. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1989 and a Recorder in 1993.

He became Head of Chambers at 17 Carlton Crescent and served in that position for some 11 years. He took silk in 1995 – the first practitioner in Southampton to be appointed one of Her Majesty’s Counsel.

He retired from the Bar, following an accident, in 2005.

Jeremy was the kindest and most generous person that one could hope to meet and he had the ability to cheer the darkest of days. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
