Planning Appeals

This group draws on considerable experience and expertise in providing the strategy, advice and conduct for a very wide range of appeals under s.78 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 or related appeals or orders, including those related to transport, infrastructure, minerals and waste planning.

Having frequently been instructed to act for central government agencies, local government authorities, developers and interested parties the members of the group are familiar with the needs of working within and leading a team of experts. It is the aim of the group to provide an approachable, clear, efficient and valuable service.

The members of the group have experience in dealing with appeals in sensitive local contexts including world heritage sites, national parks, SSSI and AONB and other designated areas.

In acting for local government clients we deal with defending proposals contrary to officer recommendation.

Within the group there are a number of members of the Planning and Environmental Bar Association and the United Kingdom Environmental Law Association.
