Custodial Sentence Secured In Food Safety Case

Wiltshire Environmental Health officers raided a car wash in Devizes that was used at night to cut up meat in filthy conditions, that included the presence of dog faeces.
The lead investigator described the site as the worst that she had seen in her 28-year career. When the first site was shut down, the defendant moved the operation to a similarly unhygienic site in Ludgershall. Meat from the operation had been sold to approximately 160 customers across the country, including to restaurants in London and Bristol.
