B v Wiltshire Council

Swindon Crown Court, September 2018. B’s appeal against the imposition of an abatement notice was dismissed on the second day of the hearing. Wiltshire Council had served an abatement notice on B as he had caused a statutory nuisance by persistently burning waste on a commercial scale, resulting in residents suffering from sore throats and stinging eyes as the result of the smoke. Syan was instructed to act for the respondent in the case, Wiltshire Council.
