12CP launch new Corporate Risk & Compliance Team
Published on 26/10/2026
12CP Barristers has always provided specialist advice and advocacy on behalf of both prosecuting authorities and defendants. However, with the ever-changing landscape we work within 12CP has established a specialist team of professionals to expand the cost-effective service we are able to provide.
Chambers is proud to be acknowledged as leaders in the field of regulatory law.
Historically, barristers have generally been instructed to assist once proceedings are contemplated or after they are issued. This is no longer always the case. Solicitors and companies are increasingly seeking the expertise of specialist Counsel on a day-to-day basis.
The newly established Corporate Risk and Compliance Team consolidates and enhances the assistance Chambers provides across the multidisciplinary areas of law and regulation.
The team brings a wealth of experience, not merely of prosecuting and defending cases in court, but additionally providing an advisory service outside of the usual criminal justice framework. This includes offering companies expert advice on stress testing internal procedures, providing training and seminars to key managers and staff, and expert assistance at an early stage when investigations are launched.
Members of the team have regularly provided assistance with internal investigations by companies to enhance resilience and improve decision making. Their experience and advice are focused on enabling and supporting companies to adopt a proactive approach to compliance. We understand the need to avoid or mitigate costly litigation, and the reputational damage it can cause a business.
The establishment of the team enables Chambers to continue and extend its professional assistance to companies directly, as well as its services to other legal and regulatory professionals.
In addition to stand-alone support, we recognise the need for practical input; the team works closely with consultants and other professionals who are recognised as leaders in their field, providing specialist advice across the regulatory spectrum and helping to mitigate risk and enhance compliance.
