Chambers Launches Dedicated Police Law Team
Published on 12/08/2025
We are pleased to announce the launch of our dedicated Police Law Team, led by Ethu Crorie. The team brings together barristers from across Chambers with expertise in regulatory law, inquests, and public law, and will provide national representation and advice in this growing area of practice.
The team will focus on key areas including asset recovery, protective orders, and inquests, with members available to act for:
- Police forces and legal departments
- Police and Crime Commissioners
- Individual officers
- Public authorities and statutory bodies
Reflecting on the launch, Ethu Crorie, Head of the Police Law Team, said:
“This is an exciting development for Chambers. Police law is an area that demands not only legal skill, but discretion, sensitivity, and a deep understanding of operational realities. Our team is well placed to support clients across a full spectrum of issues — from misconduct proceedings and POCA applications to inquests and disclosure reviews.”
“We’ve created a team that brings together barristers who understand the pressures our clients face — whether it’s navigating complex investigations or responding to time-critical operational matters. We’re committed to delivering clear, practical advice and confident representation at every stage.”
The Police Law Team offers counsel at all levels of seniority, enabling flexible support for both urgent applications and long-running cases. With a collaborative approach across Chambers’ Regulatory, Inquests and Local Government teams, the group is building on already existing high-quality instructions and longstanding relationships with clients nationwide.
“This is a natural step forward for Chambers and one of the first things I wanted to do as a Senior Clerk. The team brings together a group of barristers who truly understand the sensitivities and challenges of modern policing. We’re proud to offer practical, expert support to police clients and legal teams across the country. We have been doing these types of work for many years and I am very happy to now have a team dedicated to this practice area.”
– Lucy Smith, Senior Clerk
