£15m Legal Aid Offer Averts Further Strikes

Rose Burns quoted in The Times after The Criminal Bar Association call a halt to the proposed "no-returns" policy due to be implemented on 25th May.

This follows an offer from the Ministry Of Justice which will increase government spending into the advocates graduated fee scheme by £15m. The proposal will include £8m more funding for fraud, drug, and child sexual abuse cases; a 1% rise in fees from April 2019 (around £2.5m); and an extra £4.5m for junior barristers.
