Rose Burns Secures Only Acquittal In Multi-Handed Drugs Trial

23 May 2018

In a ‘County Lines’ case involving several defendants who conspired to supply Class A drugs in Southampton, the only defendant to be acquitted after trial was a young 16 year old London lad. Rose Burns successfully argued in front of the jury that S45 of the Human Slavery Act 2015 applied in his case, and that he had been exploited by a gang who brought him down to Southampton and made him, under threat of violence to himself or his family, take part in the drug-dealing enterprise.
