Gosport Bar handed planning enforcement fine

02 Jan 2018

Poonam Pattni succeeds in planning prosecution against a bar & restaurant in Gosport after it's "significant, deliberate and wilful non-compliance" with the local councils planning enforcement notice.

The owner of a harbourside restaurant was issued with a planning enforcement notice to remove outside seating which had been setup without planning permission. After giving the owner every opportunity to comply and having received numerous complaints regarding the seating from members of the public, the local council proceeded with the prosecution.

Over six months after originally issuing the planning enforcement notice and after only very removing the disputed seating, the owner was fined for £20,000 and ordered to pay a further £2,000 in costs.
