Data Protection & E-Disclosure
As a specialist ADR practitioner, Naveen understands the value of avoiding litigation and therefore Compliance, Governance and Risk Management are key areas of his commercial practice. He can provide advice directly to General Counsel, In-House Legal Departments and HR Departments.
Naveen can assist with matters relating to Data Protection and Freedom of Information Act requests. He can be instructed directly by Information Officers, Compliance Officers and Data Custodians within companies and organisations. Naveen is familiar with appeals in the Information Rights Tribunal from notices issued by the Information Commissioner.
Naveen has a sound understanding of all the procedural aspects of e-disclosure/electronic disclosure/discovery. He can assist with the production of a report, the completion of the Electronic Documents Questionnaire and representation at the CMC hearing.
Clients value the analytical expertise that Naveen can bring to issues; including whether documentation may be protected by 'privilege' or if it is considered to be 'evidence'.
Employment Law & Discrimination
Naveen has been undertaking advocacy at the Employment Tribunals for over ten years. He has also appeared before the EAT. His practice is now predominantly Respondent based.
Employment law was Naveen’s specialist subject for his Masters degree. He covers all areas including unfair dismissal, discrimination, TUPE, whistle-blowing and breach of contract claims. He is also able to assist with injunctive relief applications in the High Court where there has been a breach of covenant (restraint of trade).
Naveen is available to advise on all disciplinary and grievance matters, draft pleadings, provide written advice, conduct Case Management Direction and Pre-Hearing Reviews as well as final trials.
He is able to receive instructions directly from businesses and Human Resources professionals (CIPD). He represents various national Recruitment Agencies as well as members of the Chamber of Commerce, Federation of Small Business and the Institute of Directors.
Naveen provides training for CPD purposes (including in-house to Local Government) and is a member of the Discrimination Law Association and Industrial Law Society.
Housing, Residential Landlord and Tenant and Property
Naveen regularly represents Housing Associations, Local Authorities and commercial lenders in the County Court in a variety of possession claims, injunctions for anti-social behaviour and other interlocutory applications. He is a member of the Housing Law Practitioners Association.
Naveen has considerable experience of lengthy, multi-party litigation.
Naveen has successfully mediated in excess of 140 cases since 2002. He is listed in the top-tier of mediators by the Bar Council and is a member of the Civil Mediation Council. Please speak to his Clerk in relation to his mediation CV as he has experience in several areas of the law.
Naveen has been Accredited as a Civil & Commercial Mediator by both the ADR Group and CEDR. He has also trained with the London School of Mediation, RICS and is an Assessor for the Centre of Justice.
Naveen is a CMC Registered Workplace Mediator and can help employers who wish to resolve any dispute with their employees or even between their employees, quickly and in a cost-effective manner.

Prior to joining Chambers, Naveen worked as a fee-earner in the Civil Litigation department of Biscoes solicitors in Portsmouth for two years. He has also sat on two separate Bar Council Committees.
