Lucy is a dual practitioner who specialises in both Criminal and Family Law.

Above all else Lucy prides herself on her oral advocacy and her friendly demeanour - both inside and outside of the courtroom. She looks to encourage open discourse and a warm rapport with both professional and lay clients throughout the litigation process.

Practice Areas:

Crime and Regulatory
Lucy regularly appears in both the Magistrates' Court and Crown Court for both the Defence and Prosecution covering all areas of criminal practice including confiscation proceedings. Lucy particularly enjoys working on matters that involve vulnerable persons and youths (both as witnesses and defendants) and hopes her friendly demeanour helps to make them feel more at ease and engaged with the court process.

Lucy also regularly prosecutes matters on behalf of Local Authorities and other agencies, appearing in matters involving the Education Act, Environmental Law, Benefit Fraud, Licensing, Health and Safety and Trading Standards Prosecutions.

Lucy is a Grade 1 CPS Prosecutor and regularly appears in the Crown Court on their behalf and on behalf of the Probation Service.

Prison Law
Lucy has a particular interest in Prison Law and has both advised and represented at Prison Adjudications - with a particular focus on the intricacies of MDT procedure. Lucy also undertakes representation at Parole Board Hearings and has experience of dealing with offenders subject to indeterminate sentences.

In addition to representing offenders, Lucy has experience of drafting and advising on Judicial Review applications concerning decisions of the Parole Board and the Secretary of State.

Family Law
Lucy enjoys acting for parents in all manner of Private Law Children proceedings and looks forward to supporting them through the process of contact and residence disputes. Lucy additionally has experience of cases that involve out of jurisdiction relocation.

In respect of Public Law Children work, Lucy represents both parents and Local Authorities in relation to care order applications.

In the Family Court Lucy has a special interest in cases that involve Domestic Violence and is adept at advising and representing clients during applications for all manner of protective orders - including new orders such as Female Genital Mutilation Protection Orders.
