Dylan has specialised in family and child care work since 1996. Before that his practice included approximately 40% general civil work and personal injury.

The kind of work he currently does centres on child care and the more complex or contentious private law applications.

His recent child care work has included cases with serious and complex issues of fact or those involving major disputes over expert evidence. These have involved expert evidence as to mental illness and behavioural problems and also the more complicated non-accidental injury cases.

Dylan has more recently been employed by Local Authorities, Children’s Guardians and Parents in long running (over five days) cases concerning shaken baby and non – accidental fracture fact finding hearings, issues over international adoptions, Fictitious/Induced Illness Syndrome and cases where there are substantial issues of law and/or fact to be decided. Parent lay clients have frequently included those who require particular assistance in terms of their understanding and client care - as well as those who need much more firm handling!

His recent private law children cases have included those where there are issues over implacable hostility to contact and/or Parental Alienation Syndrome. Also he has conducted cases involving the more serious issues of fact such as fact finding hearings involving sexual abuse allegations and long running domestic violence issues.

As to Ancillary Relief cases - these are toward the upper end of the scale. They have customarily involved issues over farming assets, family businesses and third party involvement in Ancillary Relief claims which often overlap with land law/property law claims.

His other work covers all areas of ancillary relief, property applications involving cohabitees/co-owners, and Inheritance Act claims. He has experience in dealing with ancillary relief/co - ownership cases involving proceeds of crime/criminal confiscation proceedings.
