Practice
A specialist family practitioner, Mark has experience in all aspects of children, finance and matrimonial work and has lectured on topics including cohabitation, ancillary relief costs and unaccompanied asylum seekers within care proceedings.
Children
Mark has acted in numerous public law cases on behalf of local authorities and parents, including proceedings involving up to 8 children, allegations of neglect and physical abuse, induced illness and substance abuse. He has particular experience of cases involving parties with mental health difficulties.
Mark's practice embraces all public law work from EPOs and Secure Accommodation Orders to Care, Special Guardianship and Adoption proceedings.
In private law, Mark has extensive experience of residence and contact disputes, including applications to remove from the jurisdiction and change of name disputes as well as having conducted several longstanding "implacable hostility" cases. He has also appeared in the High Court in international child abduction cases and been involved in many domestic violence cases.
Finance
Mark has a great interest in cohabitation matters and has utilised this to develop a practice involving ToLATA cases between home-sharers of all kinds and is happy to advise and act in such proceedings and in the oft-related area of claims under Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989.
Mark also deals with all ancillary relief matters ranging from those reliant upon benefits to cases involving foreign properties, complex pensions and family businesses.
Matrimonial
Mark is happy to act and advise in divorce proceedings with particular experience in cases involving non-consummation through wilful refusal or incapacity.
