Lena came to the bar following an MA in 20th Century Literature and a period of time working at British Telecom, dealing with commercial and competition law. She practises in a wide range of civil law, with a particular emphasis on land and other chancery work, as well as planning. She is also experienced in various aspects of housing law.
Chancery & Land
Lena accepts instructions in all areas chancery law, including wills and probate and insolvency however her practice has an emphasis on matters relating to land. She regularly acts for and advises landowners and particularly local authorities on public and private rights of way matters (including the 2006 NERC Act), as well as issues relating to boundary disputes and the registration of town and village greens.

She has particular expertise in housing law and has acted for a number of Housing Associations and Local Authorities throughout the South of England.
Lena is also experienced in all aspects of individual and company insolvenc proceedings acting for creditors and debtors alike.
She also has experience advising Local Authorities and companies on drafting aspects of commercial contracts as well as contractual disputes.
Planning
Lena undertakes a wide range of advisory and inquiry work in the planning field. In particular, this includes work in relation to planning applications and appeals, enforcement matters and compulsory purchase inquiries and compensation.
Employment
Lena has appeared in Employment Tribunals throughout the South of England. She also advises in a wide range of employment matters, including unfair dismissal, discrimination cases and equal pay.
