Practice
As a general common law practitioner, her practice is divided mainly between landlord and tenant, planning, employment and other general civil matters.
Landlord and Tenant
She is regularly instructed by local authorities, housing associations and private clients to advise upon and appear in the whole range of landlord and tenant issues, including possession claims, anti-social behaviour injunctions and ASBOs, committal and disrepair matters as well as matters relating to leases, tenancies, covenants and easements. Additionally she frequently advises upon statutory homelessness reviews carried out by local authorities and consequential judicial review.
Planning
In the planning field she regularly advises and appears on behalf of local authorities in planning appeals. Additionally she has been involved in some longer running inquiries including being second junior to a major party in the year long Dibden Bay Container Port Public Inquiry, junior in a highways (by-pass) inquiry and as junior for a local authority in a local plan inquiry which adopted an interim and more informal procedure given the recent changes in the local development framework.
Employment
She has acted throughout the Western, South Eastern and London Circuits on behalf of Claimants and Respondents in wide ranging employment law matters, including disability and sex discrimination claims, unfair and wrongful dismissals, breaches of employment regulations including TUPE and Part-Time Worker Regulations and breaches of contract.
General civil
She also advises and appears on discrete contract and negligence issues and will, probate, equity and inheritance matters.
Finally she also appears in independent tribunals and commissions in the areas of care standards, benefits and child support.
